Summit Land Use Planning Process

In September 2012, Chattanooga City Council asked RPA to undertake a study to provide guidance on appropriate land uses in response to activity in the Summit area including:

  • City of Chattanooga annexation becomes effective for portion of study area

  • Requests for rezoning

  • 1-75/Apison Pike Interchange/connector completed

  • Future proposed Apison Pike widening

The RPA conducted a community land use planning study and, after three public meetings, presented the draft study to the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission and Chattanooga City Council. On March 12, 2013, Chattanooga City Council adopted the Summit Land Use Plan.

The plan may be found here: Summit Land Use Plan - Final
