Brownfields Job Training

2009 Grant

A $200,000 job training grant to train up to 30 people to work in an array of brownfields activities.

 

Chattanooga Brownfields Job Training Winter 2011 Training Program – Application due date for the February and March classes is extended to Tuesday, January 18
by 4:00 p.m.

The Brownfields Job Training Program prepares trainees with the skills needed for entry-level jobs in fields such as hazardous waste management, environmental clean up, asbestos, mold and lead abatement and industrial services. Classes are free of charge. There is no stipend paid. Applicants must be a resident of the City of Chattanooga and be 18 years or older. Please read the brochure and letter for more qualifications and details on the program.

There will be two sessions of classes, the same material will be taught in each session. Classes will be held daily from 8:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. from February 9 – March 4, 2011 and March 9 – April 1, 2011. These will be the last classes offered in this program; the EPA grant funding the training expires April 30, 2011.
