About the Community Design Group

Bringing together vision, plan, and project.

As a division of the Regional Planning Agency, our goal is to make more beautiful, balanced, and active communities in Hamilton County.  Our agency is focused on advancing great places that are based on clear and constructive design principles and created through inclusive planning efforts.  The Community Design Group (CDG) serves as a resource to both the public and private sectors for design guidance on development and redevelopment projects.

We strive to communicate, and establish an understanding of, design principles with an emphasis on the public realm, and how private development should interface with it.  The public realm should enhance the livability of a place and provide diverse settings for community interaction and commerce.

Our work focuses on:

  • The design of streets, parks, and trails;

  • Urban and suburban development and redevelopment plans; and

  • Best practices for site design.

We also provide visualization, graphic design, and website communications.
